WHO CAN JOIN: Anyone 13 years or older is welcome to join. Whether you identify yourself as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning or friends of someone who identifies as such, or are simply in need of an open welcoming community such as ours - we welcome you!
OUTMINDS first came into being back in 1999, a creative endeavor of four friends who envisioned an online interactive network for GLBT youth and their allies. The site grew phenomenally and at one point hosted tens of thousands of members.
As many of the original OM’ers know, life happened – the founders went their separate ways and OUTMINDS was sorely neglected. For that, I apologize profusely.
In its place sprang up the love child of impassioned OM’ers, the wonderful site http://www.OpenMynds.com – an awesome site that has carried the vision forward.
The dream is alive – a social network, a safe place, for GLBT youth and their allies – we will continue to honor that mission – to create a network of sites for YOU.
The NEW OUTMINDS has been reborn – to honor that original mission and to create that safe place for GLBT individuals and their allies, to provide resources and support during tough times, to provide a social outlet to share and celebrate the ups and downs of life for GLBT individuals and their allies.
